Session Overview

You will be able to participate in 3 different workshops. We will try our best to give you your first choices, but space is limited.

Arabic:Experience this beautiful culture and language. You will learn a few phrases in Arabic and even get a Henna tattoo or have your name written in Henna. You will play games and sample some delicious snacks.
Caribbean Dance: Join the Afro/Caribbean Club to learn an African dance and enjoy refreshments.
Chinese & Japanese: Would you like to try Chinese and Japanese Calligraphy or make a holiday card with Origami? Have you ever wanted to make a Chinese “Hacky Sack” and then play with it? Come to this session to have fun!
Finding the Philippines: One country with more than 7000 islands! A tropical adventure in just one session; arts, music, dancing, and food! Find out how you can become a tropical traveler, not just a tourist.
French Café: Experience the French Cafe! Learn to order food and eat like the French. Bon appetit!
Edible Numismatics: Learn Latin and Roman culture by investigating examples of Roman coins. Then, create your own coin using the Latin you’ve learned, and EatIt! Yes, these coins are sugar cookies!
Germany: Enjoy the taste of Germany! From Gingerbread to Bratwurst, there’s food for everyone! Learn a few German phrases on the side and you too can celebrate at a Festhaus in style! Zum Wohl!
Highland Games: Lads and Lassies! Do ye like games, music, and men in kilts? Our Academy students will lead you through the challenges to bring out the inner Scotsman (or lady) in you. Show your skills in shot put, caber toss, weight throws, and the lazy stick. At the end of the games, the champion will be crowned!
Israel Hebrew Culture Club: Come and learn about the Academy exchange program, get your name written in Hebrew, play Israeli games and learn dances, try some food, and talk to our student ambassadors who have traveled to ancient sites in Israel.
Latin Dance Party and Paper Flowers: Paper flowers have long been used as party decorations in Mexico and in the United States. Make your own beautiful flowers from tissue paper, and then get the party going by learning a popular Latin American dance step!
Operation Smile: This is an engaging and active club at THS! In this interactive session, you will learn how Operation Smile helps thousands of children around the world and how you can help bring a smile to the face of a child today!
Rosetta Stone: Take part in an introduction to the #1 language-learning software program Rosetta Stone. You will be able to experience firsthand the program that Academy students are raving about this year!
Russian: Stretching from Europe to Siberia, Russia has it all, from magnificent cities to rugged wilderness, from sunny beaches to frozen tundra. A land of history, mystery, secrets and surprises. Come to this session to learn how to dance Russian Kazachok.
