The Gifted Dance Education Program’s comprehensive curriculum engages, inspires and encourages the kinesthetic learner regarding how to integrate their learning style to reach their full potential as a scholar and/or performing artist. Physical skill development is nurtured as well as knowledge of dance theory, history, performance, presentation and critical thinking using creative and collaborative tools. Applications must be submitted on or before February 1, 2019. No previous dance training is required. The dance assessment process is a full day screening that takes place once a year. Full day screening results are reviewed and students identified as gifted are invited to attend the Gifted Dance Education Program. Application and Information Night available at vbschools.com.

The Gifted Visual Arts Program curriculum integrates art history, criticism, aesthetic perception, creativity, theory, and skill development, as well as components from the core curriculum of knowledge. Studio and theory units focus on color & design, 2-D, 3-D, and innovation studies. An application, required drawings, and art teacher recommendation must be submitted by on or before February 1, 2019. Application materials are reviewed by the art faculty, and selected students are invited to a full day of testing.
