Governor’s School for the Arts Information Night

Governor’s School for the Arts will hold an information Night for students interested in applying for the 2018-2019 school year from on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Plaza Middle School in the Auditorium from 6:00-8:00 p.m. We had a good attendance last year, so please continue to share your enthusiasm with parents, students, and staff about this terrific opportunity.

Saturday, December 2, 2017 8:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

Registration will take place at Tallwood High School from 8:30 – 9:00 am in the Commons on a first come first served basis. Students will be able to choose three sessions from the many offered.
Parents are invited to remain for an informational session in the Schola with     Academy Coordinator, Rebecca Gurley following registration (9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.) or students may be dropped off where they will be met by GSWLA staff and students.  Students must provide their own transportation to and from the event. Please fill out the permission slip below and return it to your teacher, guidance counselor or gifted resource teacher no later than Monday, November 27th.

The College of William and Mary Enrichment Programs

The Center for Gifted Education’s 2018 Focusing on the Future conference will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 8:45 a.m.–3:00 p.m. The event will expose high-ability learners in grades 6–12 to career opportunities in various professional fields. Separate sessions will be held for parents, guardians, and counselors and will provide them with strategies and techniques to assist students with academic and career planning.

The event will be held at William & Mary’s School of Education, located at 301 Monticello Avenue, Williamsburg, VA 23185. All students must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or group chaperone. All participants must register for the event, and the registration deadline is January 12, 2018.
